Who distributes Hu-Friedy in Taiwan?
Yong Chieh is the exclusive Taiwan distributor for Hu-Friedy.
How do Standard, After Five, Mini Five and Micro Mini Five Gracey curettes differ?
Compared with Standard, After Five has a terminal shank 3 mm longer and a thinner blade for deeper pockets. Mini Five keeps the After Five shank with a blade half as long, for narrow pockets and furcations. Micro Mini Five has an even thinner blade for the narrowest, deepest sites.
How do Gracey and Universal curettes differ?
Gracey curettes are area-specific, numbered by tooth and surface, with a single cutting edge. Universal curettes have two cutting edges and one instrument works in most areas.
Can I buy the surgical instruments used by AMS speakers?
Yes. Yong Chieh supplies the Steigmann Kit, Dr. Urban General Surgery Kit and Dr. Allen Oral Plastic Surgery Kit, as full or Mini kits, and instruments can also be ordered individually.
What is the Swiss Perio Kit?
The Swiss Perio Kit is a microsurgical instrument kit developed by Hu-Friedy with Dr. Rino Burkhardt and the Swiss Perio Group. It uses Black Line instruments to reduce glare and improve contrast between instrument and tissue.
What is special about Black Line instruments?
Black Line is Hu-Friedy's black-coated instrument range. It reduces glare so instruments stand out more clearly against tissue.
What is Hu-Friedy IMS? Is it software?
IMS™ is an instrument management system. Cassettes group instruments by procedure so cleaning, sterilization, storage and set-up follow a fixed routine. It is not instrument-tracking software.
Which IMS cassette series are available?
Stainless steel cassettes in the Signature and Infinity series, in several sizes and colors, so you can color-code by procedure or clinician.
What should I do when curettes get dull?
Curettes need regular sharpening to stay efficient. Yong Chieh supplies Hu-Friedy sharpening stones and can arrange instrument care training.
